Building Paid Acquisition From Zero, 200 Leads at $2.50 CPL for a Forex Trading Academy

Client: KiraForex Trading Academy Objective: Lead Generation Result: 200 qualified leads in under 7 days at a $2.50 cost per lead

The Problem

KiraForex Trading Academy had never run paid ads before. They had a product , forex trading education , and an audience they wanted to reach across multiple African countries, including both English and French-speaking markets. But they had no campaign history, no pixel data, no tested creatives, and no established funnel. Everything needed to be built from scratch.

My Approach

Starting from zero meant doing things right the first time.

The first task was infrastructure: setting up the Meta Pixel, configuring conversion events, and making sure the tracking was airtight before spending a single dollar. There's no point running campaigns if you can't measure what's working.

Next came audience and market strategy. The client wanted to reach audiences across Africa, and part of my role was deciding which countries to target and how to approach each market. After research, I recommended targeting both English-speaking and French-speaking markets , including countries like Cameroon , and creating separate ad sets with French-language creatives to speak directly to those audiences. Running bilingual campaigns in different countries requires more than translation; the messaging needed to feel native to each market, not like a direct copy-paste.

For the campaign structure, I chose to run lead generation campaigns using a custom landing page to collect contact information. The audience was kept intentionally broad , rather than over-constraining targeting with stacked interests; I let Meta's algorithm find the right people within each market.

Creatives were a mix of single-image and video ads. We tested multiple variations to identify which formats and messages resonated best with each audience segment.

The Result

Within 7 days, the campaigns generated 200 qualified leads at a $2.50 cost per lead.

For context, the average CPL for financial services on Meta typically ranges from $8-$15. Delivering at $2.50 , in multiple markets, with fresh pixel data and no historical performance to build on , is a result that came from getting the foundations right: clean tracking, smart market segmentation, and disciplined creative testing from day one.

The campaign also established the pixel data foundation that future retargeting campaigns would be built on.
